It's a more sweeping change than I suggested (which was basically just replacing 0% or the market in the existing rules with +2.5% or the market) and I wonder whether there needs to be something market-related for when something peaks in streams on a particularly high or low week, also I'm not sure how it would work with resets (particularly the likes of Do It To It), but it's probably still an improvement on the current situation.
There have been cases where it’s felt like a song has gone too soon after three very tiny declines, as well as where songs have hung around too long by having two big declines followed by a level week. I’ve said this before but I think it’s the three consecutive weeks rule that silly and it should just be something like when you drop below 80% or 85% of your peak streams and you’ve had more than 9 weeks you go to ACR.
